Answer

Ink is not soaking into the label.  It stays on the surface and doesn't dry. (LX800-810-400-900)

The LX800-810-400-900 requires Inkjet printable stock.  Since inkjet printing is fairly new to the label printing industry, a vast majority of label stock available is thermal stock.  Using thermal stock in the LX800 will cause the ink not to soak into the label and to smear easily.  Most major manufacturers of label stock also make inkjet label stock.

We recommend our Tuffcoat label stock which is available in many different sizes at our web store - www.primerastore.com.  Primera’s labels are the perfect match for the LX series dye based inks.  Compatibility and performance are guaranteed.  Standard sizes are usually available for immediate shipment.  All labels for the LX 800-810-900 are 6” maximum OD on a 3” core with a .125” corner radius.  All labels for the LX 400 are 5” maximum OD on a 2” core with a .125”corner radius.  All rolls are perforated, unless otherwise noted.

TuffCoat High-Gloss Paper - smooth, bright white face sheet with permanent, general purpose acrylic adhesive.  Excellent adhesion to cardboard, metals and most plastics.  High-gloss finish is very abrasion-resistant and highly water-resistant.

TuffCoat Semi-Gloss Paper - smooth, off-white face sheet with permanent general purpose acrylic adhesive.  Excellent adhesion to cardboard, metals and most plastics.  Some water resistance, excellent abrasion resistance.

TuffCoat Extreme™ High-Gloss White Polyester - bright white shiny finish with excellent water resistance.  General purpose acrylic adhesive.  Must use reduced saturation settings in LX-Series printer driver software.

TuffCoat Extreme™ High-Gloss Clear Polyester - optically clear shiny finish with excellent water resistance.  General purpose acrylic adhesive.  Must use reduced saturation settings in LX-Series printer driver software.

TuffCoat Extreme™ White Matte Polypropylene - Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene (BOPP) has a bright white matte finish.  Excellent clarity, resistant to oils and greases, good puncture and flex-crack resistance over a wide range of temperatures, excellent water resistance and doesn’t wrinkle or shrink with environmental changes.

We also recommend the "Demand Jet" series of stocks by Fasson.  They manufacture a number of different types of stocks and coatings that are compatible with the LX800-810-400-900.
