Answer

How do I make my Signature Z6/Pro/IV print to the center and outer edge of the CD/DVD?

Signature III/IV/Pro (XP/2000)

To make the printer print closer to the center you need to adjust the Center Size in the driver preferences. Go to Start - Control Panel - Printers and Faxes - Right click on the CD Color Printer 3/4/Pro - Choose Printing Preferences - Click Advanced - Open Calibration Options - Adjust the Center Size. Full hub printable is approximately -280. Standard CDs are approximately -70. The more you go negative the closer to the center hub it prints. Each brand of media will need specific adjustments to this value.

Bravo / Signature Z6 (XP/2000)

To make the printer print closer to the center you need to adjust the Center Size in the driver preferences. Go to the Start Menu - Control Panel - Printers - Right click on the Disc Publisher/CD Color Printer 6 and choose Printing Preferences.

To adjust center size, Open the Calibration Options area. Adjust the inner diameter. Each brand of media will need specific adjustments to this value. For CDs purchased from Primera you should enter a value of approximately 370. For DVDs or hub printable media enter a value of 220. The lower the number the closer to the center hub it prints.

To adjust the printable outer margin, adjust the value in the printable out margin setting within the Printing Preferences area. In order to set this value, the Paper Size has to be set to Disc 120mm. For CDs or DVDs purchased from Primera enter a value from 5 to 10.

Note on Image Format: Make sure that the image you are printing goes all the way to the outer edge or center when you are viewing it on screen. For example if the image was originally created in another software application such as Photoshop and then imported into SureThing, the inner and outer edge may have already been cropped to look like a disc on screen. If this is the case, the outer edge and inner diameter are set by the image not by the driver. It would be impossible to change the diameter or outer edge without editing the image itself. To fix this problem recreate the image in Photoshop as a 4.72" x 4.72" square. Do not make the image look like a disc on screen. The driver will do all necessary outer and inner cropping.
