How do I disable/enable Interactive Services Dialog Detection messages in Windows Vista/7/8/10?

To disable/enable Interactive Services Dialog Detection messages in Windows Vista/7/8/10, click on the Start icon and search the word “services”. Click on Services when it comes up, and find Interactive Services Detection in the list of services. Right click it, and click Properties. Here, you can either Stop/Start the service, or choose “Disabled” or "Automatic" from the Startup Type menu to stop or start the service permanently. 

1.  Open Control Panel

2.  Double click ‘Administrative Services’ Or 'Administrative Tools'

3.  Double-click “Services”

4.  Right click - ‘Interactive Services’

5.  Select ‘Stop’ or 'Start'

6.  Right click - select Properties

7.  In ‘Startup type’ select ‘Disable’ or 'Automatic' to stop or start the service permanently.

8.  Click “OK”

For Windows 8 or Windows 10 you will first need to edit a registry setting before starting this service. Set this key in the registry to zero.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Windows\NoInteractiveServices = 0

To get to the registry on Windows 8 browse to c:\Windows\regedit.exe
